Washington, D.C. \u2014 Today, Gun Owners of America (GOA) led two coalition letters from the\u00a0Second Amendment Action Alliance<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0No Compromise Alliance<\/a>\u00a0to Speaker McCarthy and other members of House leadership urging them to pass a resolution of disapproval under the Congressional Review Act to block the\u00a0Biden Pistol Brace Ban<\/a>. The Second Amendment Action Alliance represents numerous online influencers with a combined following of over 30 million viewers. The No Compromise Alliance represents various members within the firearms trade industry. Notably, this is GOA\u2019s largest industry coalition effort to date.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The Biden Pistol Brace Ban will take full effect on June 1st, and owners of pistol braces have until that date to turn in, register, or destroy their lawfully owned braces. After that date, those in possession of an unregistered pistol brace could face felony charges and a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. Researchers estimate that 10-40 million of these braces are in circulation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n While a resolution of disapproval would likely face a veto from President Biden, it would still force vulnerable Democratic Senators to go on the record as to whether they support turning their own constituents into felons simply for owning one of these braces. If the resolution passed both chambers of Congress, it would also send a strong message to the judges currently weighing court challenges that argue the ATF went beyond their authority with this rulemaking. Gun Owners of America is co-leading one of the lawsuits\u00a0challenging the rule\u00a0with Texas Attorney General<\/a>\u00a0Ken Paxton.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Erich Pratt, GOA\u2019s Senior Vice President, issued the following statement:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cWhen an administration moves to renounce prior guidance and suddenly outlaw tens of millions of lawfully-owned products, Congress must step in and make clear that this is a question for the people\u2019s representatives, not unelected bureaucrats equipped with a pen. We urge the House to pass H. J. Res. 44, a resolution of disapproval under the Congressional Review Act to block this rule before its June 1st\u00a0effective date. Without action, millions of law-abiding citizens stand to become felons overnight.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Aidan Johnston, GOA\u2019s Director of Federal Affairs, added:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cWhether by his calls to ban semiautomatic weapons or his multiple executive actions to ban homemade guns or pistol braces, President Biden has made it clear that he has no respect for the Second Amendment or the millions of citizens who cherish the right guaranteed by it. We urge Speaker McCarthy to get H. J.
