Named the <a href=\"https:\/\/missionfirsttactical.com\/search.php?search_query=achro\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Achro<\/em> series<\/a>, these bags aim to provide a heavy degree of durability and storage space while remaining achromatic, or without color. <em>Gray man<\/em>, in the common tongue, meaning one who looks outwardly unremarkable, but possesses hidden skills and abilities.<\/p>\n<p>The three bag sizes in the Achro line are the 10 liter <a href=\"https:\/\/missionfirsttactical.com\/B2-SL-BL\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sling Bag<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/missionfirsttactical.com\/B2-22BP-BL\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">22L EDC Backpack<\/a>, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/missionfirsttactical.com\/B2-30BP-BL\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">30L EDC Backpack<\/a>. While they vary significantly in size, the Achro packs share a number of important commonalities.<\/p>\n<p>What sets a good low-profile, concealed carry bag apart from some average big box store backpack? Primarily, it\u2019s the ability to securely store a firearm, while allowing quick access.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Multi-Mount Platform<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>MFT\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/missionfirsttactical.com\/multi-mount-platform\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Multi-Mount Platform<\/a> is essentially a plastic triangle with either adhesive backing, or hook-and-loop. Now that it\u2019s included in each Achro bag, it makes even more sense.<\/p>\n<p>Mission First Tactical\u2019s Achro packs aren\u2019t overtly advertised as being able to double as an impromptu plate carrier, but I\u2019ll note the tablet pockets are about the same size as many <a href=\"https:\/\/www.avantlink.com\/click.php?tt=cl&amp;merchant_id=a3a62690-47d8-476c-8fd0-dd79cf148a6e&amp;website_id=4e8a62e5-c9f2-4169-947d-06856fc118da&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ar500armor.com%2Fs2-body-armor.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">soft armor plates<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>1000 Denier Nylon Kodra<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>My wife and kids happened to be hanging out in the living room when I opened up the box from MFT. The durability of this fabric is well documented, but it seems people keep coming up with ways to make it better, including making it more water resistant.<\/p>\n<p>How resistant? It\u2019s telling that MFT added YKK\u2019s AquaGuard zipper. I loaded the medium (22L) EDC bag and sprayed it with the garden hose with a strong blast from two feet away.\u00a0 After a full minute of attacking the seams and zippers from every angle I gave it an inspection. Check. Comfort? Check<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>As I started packing all three bags, my eye kept coming back to the Kodra fabric exterior.\u00a0 It looks <em>really<\/em> nice. Once I loaded down these bags, the quilted back padding and padded straps stood out immediately. It\u2019s a flat, quick-detach swivel mount, with about 110 degrees of movement. There\u2019s space galore. How much space? Well, I started off by putting in my PSA JAKL (with ACOG and one of MFT\u2019s custom printed magazines, with art donated to me by Weapon Outfitters\/Paigeosity).<\/p>\n<p>I tossed in a suppressor, first aid kit, 8\u2033x10\u2033 Crye soft armor plate, holstered <a href=\"https:\/\/www.avantlink.com\/click.php?tt=cl&amp;merchant_id=366d8fa6-2a72-4d59-bc31-583f74cfd91b&amp;website_id=4e8a62e5-c9f2-4169-947d-06856fc118da&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fpalmettostatearmory.com%2Fbrands%2Fglock%2Fglock-43.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GLOCK 43x<\/a>, Quik-Clot, breach pen, large water bottle, lockpicks, glow sticks and flashlights. The utility pouch is wired tight, meaning your flashlights, <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/45FRrQb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">chemlights<\/a>, pens and more will stay just where you leave them. It fits, but if the Achro packs weren\u2019t using YKK zippers I wouldn\u2019t do it often due to the stress on the zipper. Heavy stitching, 1000D nylon, and YKK zippers all speak to a process dedicated to quality over bargain-basement pricing.<\/p>\n<p>These bags aren\u2019t as cheap as many designed\/made-in-China options on the market right now, and that\u2019s a good thing. Quality costs, and is worth it.
