What I didn\u2019t enjoy was the cost of the gun and the cost of its magazines. I know B&amp;T makes GLOCK and P320 lowers, but I don\u2019t care for pistol mags in my subguns\/PCCs. I like real SMG mags, and that\u2019s what lead me to <a href=\"https:\/\/lingleindustries.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lingle Industries<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I\u2019ve owned a Scorpion since they were released, and I read <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthaboutguns.com\/gun-review-cz-scorpion-evo-3-pistol\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Nick\u2019s review<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. I love the gun, and I love the mags. When I saw the opportunity to use Scorpion magazines in my <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthaboutguns.com\/gun-review-bts-apc9k\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">B&amp;T APC9K,<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> I put a checkmark in the \u2018win\u2019 column.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gunmagwarehouse.com\/catalogsearch\/result\/?q=scorpion\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Scorpion magazines <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">are cheap and plentiful. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.avantlink.com\/click.php?tt=cl&amp;merchant_id=c57f7b35-5796-4cf2-9f7e-d6ef5a436261&amp;website_id=4e8a62e5-c9f2-4169-947d-06856fc118da&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fgunmagwarehouse.com%2Fcatalogsearch%2Fresult%2F%3Fq%3Dmagpul%2520scorpion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Magpul makes them<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, ETS makes them, Manticore Arms makes them, and obviously, the OEM options are everywhere. Currently, B&amp;T is the only maker of APC9 mags, although KCI is releasing B&amp;T mags soon. The APC9K upper is serialized so the lower can come right to my door. No FFL required. B&amp;T uses polymer lowers for their guns, but like Lemmy and Motorhead, Lingle Industries is all about metal. These are machined aluminum lowers complete with a Cerakote finish.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">They come stripped or complete. If you go stripped, you\u2019ll need to install an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.avantlink.com\/click.php?tt=cl&amp;merchant_id=bcb477af-5b50-448e-9f25-6195cb7195ff&amp;website_id=4e8a62e5-c9f2-4169-947d-06856fc118da&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.aeroprecisionusa.com%2Fcatalogsearch%2Fresult%2F%3Fq%3D%2BAr%2Btrigger%2Bgroup\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AR-15 trigger group<\/a>, safety, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.avantlink.com\/click.php?tt=cl&amp;merchant_id=bcb477af-5b50-448e-9f25-6195cb7195ff&amp;website_id=4e8a62e5-c9f2-4169-947d-06856fc118da&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.aeroprecisionusa.com%2Fcatalogsearch%2Fresult%2Findex%2F%3Fplatform%3D8%26q%3Dar%2Bgrips%26spare_part_type%3D57\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AR pistol grip<\/a>. Plus, you\u2019ll need the B&amp;T takedown pins. The Lingle lower is outfitted with a Strike Industries Scorpion magazine release, but you can change the release to any other on the market. Keep it standard for functionality purposes. Although, the FRT-15 in this thing would be a ton of fun. This model has a Magpul grip and ambidextrous, short-throw safety.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Does It Work?\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Yep, and it works with CZ mags, Magpul mags, and ETS mags. This includes the Magpul <a href=\"https:\/\/www.avantlink.com\/click.php?tt=cl&amp;merchant_id=c57f7b35-5796-4cf2-9f7e-d6ef5a436261&amp;website_id=4e8a62e5-c9f2-4169-947d-06856fc118da&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fgunmagwarehouse.com%2Fmagpul-d-50-ev9-cz-scorpion-9mm-50-round-drum-magazine.html%3FqueryID%3D21886f15ddabe1b0bbdf9299813fedc7%26objectID%3D5000%26indexName%3Dmagento_default_products\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">D50 drum<\/a>. I had nary an issue at the range running a multitude of drills. Even with hard-primered craptastic ammo, the gun went bang. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">What challenged me most was remembering the Scorpion manual of arms versus the B&amp;T manual of arms for reloads. I\u2019d reach for a button instead of pressing a lever. The magwell is gloriously flared for fast reloads. Just rip, stick, and it\u2019ll find its way in. I also found myself preferring the bolt release on this lower versus the standard bolt release on the APC9K. It\u2019s a little wider and easier to engage. Although, to me, the fastest reloads were done with the charging handle.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I\u2019d go far as to say that I can reload the Lingle lower with a Scorpion mag faster than I can reload the APC9K lower. Although, I\u2019ve got years of experience with the Scorpion design, so that likely plays a part.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Getting Low\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Lingle lower installs without any issues. It\u2019s just like installing any lower receiver to any AR-15\u00a0 design. If you have half your fingers and a quarter of a brain, you\u2019ll figure it out. Also, if you have a Bren 2 in 7.62\u00d739 and want to use AK mags, they have you covered with their Bren 2 lower.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Lingle Industries seems to be fairly small, but they are innovative and seemingly fearless. In the time between looking at their lowers and writing this, they\u2019ve sold out, so if it interests you, I\u2019d get on the waiting list soon.
