Washington, D.C. \u2013 Gun Owners of America (GOA) and Gun Owners Foundation (GOF) secured a preliminary injunction yesterday against a Winchester, VA ordinance that prohibits the possession, carry, or transportation of firearms at public parks and in public areas where approved demonstrations are occurring.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Erich Pratt, GOA\u2019s Senior Vice President, issued the following statement:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cWe appreciate Judge Eldridge\u2019s move to enjoin much of this unconstitutional ordinance, and we are confident that we will succeed in fully dismantling this law at trial. This is just another example of the positive effect that the Bruen decision is having in pushing back on the anti-gun policies of local, state, and federal governments.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Yesterday\u2019s victory will help on many future challenges to bans in public parks and public areas in Virginia.
