Washington, D.C. \u2013 Today, Gun Owners of America (GOA) and Gun Owners Foundation (GOF) secured a\u00a0Temporary Restraining Order (TRO)\u00a0in state court, preventing\u00a0the entire new Oregon gun control law\u00a0from being enforced<\/a>. Signed by Judge Robert S. Raschio, the order bars the state from implementing any portion of the law until a hearing is held on a request for a preliminary injunction next Tuesday.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n GOA and GOF have also\u00a0signed\u00a0onto\u00a0an amicus brief<\/a>\u00a0in a similar lawsuit against this new law in federal court in\u00a0OFF v. Brown<\/em>, which also saw some progress today when a federal judge\u00a0stayed the permit-for-purchase system\u00a0requirement for 30 days<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The new law, which passed under a ballot measure by razor thin margins, was scheduled to take effect December 8th. It would:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Erich Pratt, GOA\u2019s Senior Vice President, issued the following statement:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cThis is an exciting victory for our members in Oregon as the clock was winding down on securing relief from the onerous and unconstitutional requirements this law would have placed on current and future gun owners.
